relate the mole to a common everyday counting unit
convert atoms and compounds to moles
calculate molar mass
recognize the mole relationship shown in a chemical formula
apply conversion factors to determine the number of atoms in a known mass of a compound
understand and calculate the percent composition of a compound
understand and calculate the empirical and molecular formula of a compound
explain what a hydrate is and relate the name to its composition
describe concentration of solutions
determine the concentrations of solutions
determine the molarity of solutions
make a solution of known concentration
dilute a solution of known concentration
